1. What kind of secure server do you have?

We are running the Apache StrongHold Secure server. This Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) server uses 128 bit keys and RSA encryption technology. We use Verisign as our Certificate Authority (CA).

2. What is a secure certificate?

A secure certificate is a certificate signed by a trusted third party such as Verisign. This authenticates the server by matching key information as the web site and the company information for the owner of the certificate. This information is sent to the browser to assure the validity of the certificate.

3. What type of secure servers do you offer?

All customers who have domains on our server have two options. They may put their files that they want a secure connection for on our separate server which is located at www.blueguru.com. You would then provide a link to your pages on our secure server.

Otherwise, if you don't want your secure pages to appear on another site (Ie. you want it to appear that it is YOUR server that is secure) you would need to purchase a certificate from Verisign or another company. Verisign charges $290 for the first year and $75 each additional year.

4. Do I need to purchase a certificate for my domain? If so, how do I get one?

You only need to purchase a secure certificate if you want encryption on YOUR domain and do not wish to put your pages on our secure server domain.
